About
Welcome to the delightful world of Nina’s Pizza, a hidden gem nestled in the heart of Palm Harbor, Florida. Located at 36277 US Hwy 19 N, this pizza paradise is not just another pizzeria; it’s a labor of love for its owner, Rosario, who hails from a legacy of New York pizza-making. With a glowing 4.8-star rating and a reputation for outstanding quality, it’s no wonder that locals rave about the experience here.
Nina’s Pizza stands out not only for its authentically crafted New York-style pizza but also for its warm and welcoming atmosphere. Customers frequently mention Rosario's genuine passion for his craft, evident in every pie he creates. Made using fresh ingredients, each slice showcases a perfect balance—crispy crust, gooey cheese, and inviting toppings. Patrons rave about the supreme pizza, as well as the classic cheese pie, both of which invite a harmonious medley of flavors that will take you straight to the streets of New York.
A must-try at Nina's are the dreamy garlic knots. Diners can't get enough of these bites; they are celebrated for their ideal texture: crunchy on the outside, soft and chewy on the inside, bathed in just the right amount of garlic and butter. And if you’re feeling adventurous, don’t miss the unique Buffalo knots, which come with a delightful homemade sauce that keeps customers coming back for more.
But it’s not just the food that makes Nina’s special. The personal touch is woven into the very fabric of the dining experience. From the moment you walk in, you are treated like family. Whether it's Rosario or his kind staff, including Carrie, you’ll find that every visit is filled with warmth and friendly conversation. Their commitment to customer care truly sets Nina’s Pizza apart from the usual fast-food pizza joints. Instead of mass production, here you’ll witness the authentic art of pizza-making.
Though challenges have come Rosario’s way, including equipment delays during the early days of operation, the continuous improvements to service and quality demonstrate the resilience and dedication behind Nina's Pizza. Now equipped with advanced ovens, the efficiency has undoubtedly improved, allowing more guests to enjoy their favorite dishes without the long waits.
As the good reviews from valued customers affirm, Nina's Pizza isn't just about eating; it’s an experience filled with love, flavor, and community. So the next time you find yourself in Palm Harbor, make sure to swing by for a slice, or better yet, grab a pie to-go. Nina’s Pizza isn’t just a spot to eat—it’s a place where memories are made, and it certainly deserves a spot on your pizza-loving radar. Come for the pie, stay for the passion!
“ At about 11pm, I was craving a late dinner after a long day of traveling, but most places near me were closed. I searched for pizza, and at the top of the list found this small take-out pizzeria not far from me, with a 4.8-star rating, open until midnight. As soon as I walked in, the owner—whom I'd later learn was named Rosario—greeted me to ask what he could get me. Given it was late and my brain was tapped out, I asked Rosario for his recommendation. He looked me up and down like some kind of pizza psychic, with each glance jotting down a topping on a piece of paper. My pizza decided, he got to work making it in his kitchen—which, he explained, he designed with an open layout so customers felt involved in the process. As Rosario worked, we got to talking about his background: He's the latest in multiple generations of pizza chefs, originally from New York before moving to Florida to start Nina's Pizza (named after his mother, who passed away prior to his move). His specialty is New York-style pizza, which, as a former New York pizza chef, is the real deal—not some random kook's idea of a "New York-style pizza" which tastes nothing like the actual thing (my words, not his). He explained his goal is to make incredible pizzas, leaving most everything else to the mass-market, quantity over quality, "fast food" pizza places. Even though their menus are longer, their food is formulated with lab-made ingredients—leaving you bloated, slow, and stuffed with chemicals instead of fueled with energy from rich, earthy, whole foods. Another thing I learned from Rosario is how common it is for olive oil manufacturers—even very popular ones, probably in your cabinet right now—to add low-quality, bad-for-you vegetable oils (or worse) to every bottle, so they don't have to give you as much of the *real* olive oil you think you're paying for. The skilled manufacturers know how to do this so well you might never notice, but there's a simple test (which I'll let you ask Rosario about when you visit) to find out if the olive oil you've been using at home is secretly made of anything less than pure olive oil. By the time my pizza was almost ready, it was a few minutes before closing. I didn't have anywhere to be and was having a great time, but I asked Rosario anyway: Did he need to lock up for the night? Only if no one is being served, he said. If a customer is there, they will be fed. And that's how, shortly after midnight, I found myself smiling goodbye to Rosario and his wonderful wife (whom I'd met several minutes prior) while carrying a hot pizza and bag of garlic knots out the door. As I understand as of the time of this review, if you want to order from Nina's, you'll have to pick it up yourself. Rosario mentioned it's common for delivery drivers (even with GrubHub, Uber Eats, Doordash, or similar) to deliver several pizzas at once, meaning your pizza starting life hot and fresh from the oven will have sat in a delivery vehicle for some time before you get it. For best results, eat your pizza as soon as it's cool enough to enjoy—which means making the trip personally so you can shuttle it home while it's good and hot. After kicking back in my hotel room with my (very) personal pizza and garlic knots, I can say it's absolutely worth the effort. It might sound nuts, but the conversation I had while at Nina's made the experience the most memorable I've had while ordering food. Better yet, the pizza was one of (if not *the*) best I've ever tasted, while the garlic knots were *easily* the best I've eaten—with perfect flavor, outer crunch, and inner chew. The only complaint I have is Nina's is in Florida, not New England where I live, so I won't be back for a while. But until then, I give Rosario and his wife my best and will be looking forward to my next visit! Oh, and if this review sounds like it was paid for, it was not—if it sounds like it was, it's simply because I happen to be a marketer and wanted to write a kickass review! ”
“ It is the 4th of July, and my wife and I wanted a slice of pizza but didn't know anywhere close or who was opened today. I googled and found Nina's up the road. I went to get some pizza and I met Rosario. He was a great guy. Very friendly and courteous. The pizza was fantastic as I assumed after going there. 5 stars all the way! ”
“ Garlic knots are the best I've had in our area. You should definitely try the Buffalo knots as well. Brasario(the owner), was very welcoming and a very nice guy. You can tell that "making pies" is his true passion. Pizza was great! We got 1/2 cheese and 1/2 supreme, and will get it again. I expect this place will last. Good prices and great owners here. Give them a shot! ”
“ Our family’s favorite pizza place. Honestly, my kids request Nina’s right away when asking for Friday dinner and/or their birthday celebration! First, let’s talk about the pizza. Delicious and true NY style pizza! The crust is phenomenal, toppings are fresh, and the cheese is the perfect amount and just delicious. The garlic knots are excellent as well - the perfect amount of butter and garlic without being overly greasy or too dry. You gotta try them! They also have buffalo garlic knots with homemade buffalo sauce. I was skeptical at first, but again super impressed by the perfect ratio of knot to sauce! The owner, Rosario, is so kind and nice! You can tell this man has a passion for making pies and is doing this cause he loves it and wants people to enjoy his creation. Carrie at the front is such a sweetheart and really makes me feel valued any time I call or pick up my pies. It’s those small attention to detail that makes the difference in business and they are nailing it. For some of the older reviews that were complaining about wait times, they were a newer business when that was happening and working with ovens that were having issues. Rest assured, the timing issue has been resolved and he’s got new ovens in there now that are quick! Still the same great quality! ”
“ Hoping Nina's Pizza reopens soon! We miss the amazing pizza and meatball Parm! The owner is truly a down to earth guy who took the time to get to know my husband and I. I'm truly sad to hear that hard working people face the kind of challenges that go well beyond anything any new business should have to face. But, this guy is too freaking good for this to happen, anyone know what truly happened here? Not too worried about Nina's Pizza showing up somewhere much bigger and better soon ”
“ 8/26/2025:. Phone was working, now it says call can not go through. Bummer! Solid again! 7/16/25. Got the Veggie Delight Pizza. Tasty stuffagain ! Comes with all the right veggies standard. Keep it up Nina's! ”
“ Absolutely amazing New York pizza. The owner is from Brooklyn and knows what he is doing. Also a really cool gentleman. Can be a bit slow to get your food but it’s a new, growing small business. It’s definitely worth the wait. Found my new favorite pizza spot. ”
